Reapplication FAQ
If you were unable to select a room during the reapplication process this week, don't panic. This does not mean you will not have housing. Here are the next steps for you to complete.
- The Current Resident Reapplication will reopen at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 14.
- Be sure to edit your application to add any roommate requests or living requests, such as Meehan Hall, Pannell Hall, etc. You can add up to five living requests and up to three roommate requests.
- Our Housing Queue (https://www.jsu.edu/housing/applynow/phase-six.html) opens at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 14 and will stay open until 11:59 p.m. on March 31, 2026. Be sure to add a comment about what type of housing you prefer, example: I prefer a one-bedroom apartment. Be as descriptive as possible.
The cancellation request opens on April 1, and we will receive cancellations from now until classes begin, so make sure you keep in touch. Please just stay patient with us throughout this process, and remember, this is just the beginning. We will work diligently from now until the end of summer to place students. 25% of our total applications typically cancel each year. We are truly in the early stages of the assignments process.
In addition, residents must be preregistered for fall 2026 by May 1, 2026, to confirm their housing assignment. If a resident is not registered for fall classes, their application and/or assignment will be voided and given to the next student in line for an assignment. We have several confirmation steps along the way that students must complete to keep their assignments. Once an assignment is voided, it is reassigned to the next student in the Housing Queue. Housing Queue positions will be recalculated based on the Current Resident Reapplication submission date. Be sure to check back often on THD Self Service for your updated position. You will receive an email once you are assigned and you may view your assignment and/or roommates (if applicable) on THD Self Service.
We know this is a lot of information, but we wanted to give you an update on where things stand. Please contact us at jsuhousing@jsu.edu for more information.
