Yes, Testing Services staff supervise the testing area and use video cameras while examinees are taking their tests. All tests are monitored by proctors at all times and may include video and audio recordings.
We are located in Room B22 on the Basement/Ground Floor of the Houston Cole Library. Our Testing Center operates during the following hours:
Monday to Thursday: 8:15-11:00 am and 1:15-2:30 pm
Friday: 8:15-11:00 am and 1:15-2:00 pm
Please note that we remain closed on all university-recognized holidays and breaks.
Please note that we are unable to schedule any appointments after 2:30 pm from Monday to Thursday and after 2:00 pm on Fridays. This is to ensure that there is sufficient time to complete exams before the lab closes at 4:30 pm. Please keep in mind that afternoon scheduling may vary on days when the Houston Cole Library closes early.
We do not accept walk-ins in Testing Services. Therefore, we kindly ask all students who need to take exams to schedule their exams well in advance. This is to allow us to ensure that we have enough seating available, the necessary exam equipment, and adequate staff to accommodate your request. Thank you for your cooperation.
The Testing Services office has the right to make changes to the location, date, time, or any other aspects of any exams that they administer. The administration of an exam may be delayed, postponed, or canceled due to uncontrollable circumstances such as natural or man-made disasters. It may also be impacted by actions taken by military, political, or government authorities.
From time to time, technical issues may occur during computer-delivered tests, which may cause delays in starting an exam or may require rescheduling. In some rare cases, technical difficulties may even disrupt testing, leading to the inability to report scores or requiring a test to be restarted. However, it's important to note that technical difficulties do not include any form of user error.
If any of the situations mentioned above occur, Testing Services will offer examinees two options. They can choose to retake the exam on a later available date without any additional charge, or they can opt for a refund of the original testing fees. However, if the cancellation is due to a request to reschedule or a no-show and not due to the above reasons, Testing Services will inform the concerned faculty member or test provider directly.
Please note: We currently only accept payments through the University’s TouchNet system. Refunds will be processed through the Office of Student Accounts.
Graduating students can now take the EPP/ETS Proficiency Profile Assessment online and at their own pace. Email instructions are available from the Senior Lead Advisor of their major.
Please take note that JAX State no longer conducts on-site administration of this exam. Note: Effective November 16, 2023, the Miller Analogies Test will be discontinued. However, examinees can still request their Official Transcripts and Personal Score Reports at the Miller Analogies Test (MAT) website for the next two years or until November 2025.
