College Credit Exams
College credit exams allow students to earn credit for knowledge and skills they already have, often gained through self-study or work experience. These exams help accelerate academic progress through bypassing introductory courses, reducing educational costs, and validating prior learning. They provide a flexible way to advance in one's education and support career growth by recognizing existing expertise.
College Level Examination Program (CLEP)
The College Level Examination Program (CLEP) offers exams that enable students to earn college credit without taking classes. By scoring well on the CLEP tests, you can potentially finish your college degree quicker than the average student. These exams are computer-based, and you can find out more about CLEP testing requirements on our informational page dedicated to CLEP.
- Prior to scheduling a CLEP exam, students must check with their academic advisor to confirm the appropriate exam and any additional requirements for receiving academic credit.
- Testing Services does not provide guidance on exam suitability for specific programs, degrees, or schools.
- Students enrolling or enrolled at JAX State who are interested in attempting college-level examinations should consult with the Registrar's Office before scheduling the exam(s).
