SFA/Scholarship Purchasing

Receiving Financial Aid? There is no need to wait for your refund to purchase books! Jacksonville State University allows eligible financial aid students to spend up to $1,500 on textbooks and supplies in the Campus Bookstore.

Current Purchase Dates

  • Student Financial Aid, Scholarships, and Third-Party charge accounts will open on July 18, for the Fall 2024 Term.

  • The LAST DAY to charge to your Student Financial Aid will be August 27th at the close of business. Student Accounts will begin issue refund checks after that day.

  • Book Scholarships and Third-Party charging will remain open through October 17th.

  • All Student Accounts will be closed as of Friday, October 18.

Financial Aid Students

How to Determine Your Eligible Amount.

  • Log in to MyJaxState 
  • Choose "View Account/Make Payment."
  • "View Activity."
  • "View Transactions by Term."
  • "Choose Current Term."

The credit (-) amount listed is the amount scheduled to be refunded. You may use any or all of this balance (if needed) to purchase books and supplies up to $1,500.00.

No Credit Amount?

  • Are you registered for the current term?
  • Have you accepted your financial aid award?
  • Have you signed your electronic promissory note?
  • Have you completed your loan entrance counseling?

If you answered YES to any one of these questions, please view your Student Financial Aid Status on MyJaxState.

Purchasing in the JSU Campus Bookstore.

  • Determine your available amount before going to the campus bookstore.
  • Make your selections in store. Notify the cashier you would like to use Student Financial Aid as your payment method, and provide them with a current JSU Student ID.
  • Please be prepared to pay the difference to the bookstore should you go over your available amount.

Purchasing online from the JSU Campus Bookstore.

  • Determine your available amount before logging into the bookstore website.
  • Make your selection(s).
  • Upon checkout, choose SFA as your payment method.
  • Please be prepared to pay the difference to the bookstore should you go over your available amount.

The purchase amount will be added to your student account and deducted from your financial aid award.

*Please note that a valid credit card may still be requested if you rent textbooks. This is kept on file for return purposes only.

Students are responsible for the amount of the book purchase if any of the following occurs:

  • Financial Aid is cancelled.
  • Financial Aid is less than the original amount anticipated.

Scholarship/Third Party Students

The Campus Bookstore considers all JSU issued scholarships, as well as Third Party aid providers (i.e. Chapter 31/33, Veterans Affairs, Voc Rehab) to be “scholarships”.

*Students using a scholarship for textbook purchases will be asked to provide a copy of their student detailed schedule for verification purposes.

Purchasing in the JSU Campus Bookstore.

  • Make your selections in store. Notify the cashier you would like to use your scholarship as the payment method and provide them with a current JSU Student ID as well as a copy of your detailed student schedule.
  • Please be prepared to pay the difference to the bookstore should you go over your available amount.

Purchasing online from the JSU Campus Bookstore.

*This is not a current option for certain military voc rehab students. Please contact your government rep before ordering.

  • Make your selection(s).
  • Upon checkout, choose SFA as your payment method.
  • Please be prepared to pay the difference to the bookstore should you go over your available amount.

The purchase amount will be added to your student account and deducted from your scholarship award. Please note that in ordering online, you are electronically signing all scholarship documentation as it relates to the Campus Bookstore, as well as ensuring that you are currently enrolled in the courses you purchased textbooks for.
