Dual Credit Courses

Dual Enrollment students will earn college and high school credit simultaneously through academic, Gateway, and J-STEAM course offerings.

These courses make up what JSU refers to as General Studies Requirements. These are courses that are needed for almost every major at JSU, as well as courses that will transfer to other in-state universities. These courses also count on the high school transcript toward graduation requirements.

These courses are offered to dual students who have completed most of their high school graduation requirements and want to begin exploring a future major. The courses have been selected by academic departments as introductory courses for students and are often the first course a student would take in their major. Beyond moving past the general studies curriculum, these courses also provide dual students the opportunity to interact with JSU faculty in their field and other students who will be in their program when they become full-time Gamecocks! These courses can count on the high school transcript as Career Technical Education (CTE) or elective credit toward graduation requirements.

These are Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math (STEAM)-related courses that are offered through our J-STEAM scholarship program. These courses are taught by JSU professors and provide students with opportunities to take scholarship courses that are often not offered at their high school. These courses also count on the high school transcript toward graduation requirements.
