Application Process
- Email osp@jsu.edu to schedule a Comprehensive Pre Proposal Planning Session. Include the Notice of Funding Opportunity in your email.
- Submit Intent to Apply for a Grant Form
The Conflict of Interest Disclosure Form can be found inside the Intent to Apply for a Grant Form. There must be a Conflict of Interest Disclosure Form on file for each individual grant opportunity. Please sign and upload your Conflict of Interest Disclosure Form and attach it to the Intent to Apply for a Grant Form before submission. - Write narrative and gather all necessary documents for submission. Consider the following:
- Research/ Data/ Project Information
- The approval of all personnel on the project, and the approval of their Department Head, Dean/Director
- Budget
- Will someone need to be hired specifically to manage this grant?
- Course Buyout (must be approved by Department Head and Dean)
- Payment to Student Workers or Graduate Assistants
- Tuition and Fees for Graduate Assistants
- Student Scholarships/Stipends
- Material/Supplies
- Equipment Costs (Non-Capitalized for items up to $9,999, Capitalized for items over $10,000)
- Travel Costs
- Contractual Services
- Subawards
- Cost Share (In-Kind Contributions (with Letters of Commitment) or Matching Funds)
- Indirect Costs (The maximum Indirect Cost Rate allowed by the sponsor is the Indirect Cost Rate that JSU must apply for.)
- Budget Narrative
- Space Needs (All space requests must be approved by Cabinet.)
- Project Timeline
- Research Dissemination Plan
- Sustainability Plan
- Email all proposal documents to osp@jsu.edu no later than 3 days before the grant due date and OSP will route the proposal in Cayuse 424 to obtain the approvals of the required university personnel.
