NIMS Training

National Incident Management System (NIMS)- guides people to work together to prevent, protect against, and respond to and recover from incidents. 

Who needs NIMS Training? 

• Administration at the department head level or above
• Building Managers 
• Campus Emergency Operations Team 
• JSU Police 
• All others not specifically identified who are tasked with building emergency planning safety or security assignments. 

What are the benefits of complying with NMS?

• NIMS and Incident Command System (ICS) principles must be demonstrated during emergency responses.
• It’s required to receive federal disaster assistance funds.
• Required to apply for state and federal public safety homeland security and emergency management grant funding.
