National Incident Management System (NIMS)- guides people to work together to prevent, protect against, and respond to and recover from incidents.
Who needs NIMS Training?
- Administration at the department head level or above
- Building Managers
- Campus Emergency Operations Team
- JSU Police
- All others not specifically identified who are tasked with building emergency planning safety or security assignments.
What are the benefits of complying with NMS?
- NIMS and Incident Command System (ICS) principles must be demonstrated during emergency responses.
- It’s required to receive federal disaster assistance funds.
- Required to apply for state and federal public safety homeland security and emergency management grant funding.
