Pathways to Jax MIX Microcredentials

Jax MIX is the nation’s first general education program that includes pathways to
microcredentials.


The image below provides you with a pathway to earn a Jax MIX microcredential. You can start a Jax MIX microcredential pathway by attending approved events or completing Jax MIX courses in the focuses.

You can review your progress to earning Jax MIX microcredentials, visit your Credentials account. Your academic advisor can also provide you with more information about obtaining these microcredentials.

Start Here - Jax MIX is the university's general education program. It includes the requirements set by the state and your major for graduation. The program also has optional pathways to earn Jax MIX microcredentials.  Pathway progress tracked on Credentials
Events - Simultaneously complete your state, major, and focus through purposely selecting Jax MIX courses. In Credentials, you earn a Focus Start Badge when you begin a pathway. In Credentials, you earn a Focus Completion Badge when you complete a three course focus.
Events - Attending three events that correspond to your Jax MIX focus. You can attend events over multiple semesters. In Credentials, you earn an Event Completion Badge for every event you attend.
Microcredentials Course - Enroll in this free course after earning a Focus Completion Badge. In this course you Submit evidence of event attendance. The work product is verified. Compose a reflection essay that is evaluated. In Credentials, you earn a MIX Course Badge when you pass this course.
Microcredential - Upon passing a MIX Course, you earn its corresponding Jax MIX microcredential. This accomplishment exists on your transcript. In Credentials, you earn a Jax MIX Microcredential Badge.

  • You will recognize misinformation.
  • You will navigate responsible consumption of a variety of resources, references, and media.
