Christian Thomas (he/him)

Front-desk Assistant

Christian is a graduate history student from Oxford, Alabama. He is working on his master’s degree to become a history professor. He is heavily involved with several student organizations including student government association. In his free time, Christian enjoys creative writing, watching sports and movies.

Jasmina Alvardo

Jasmina Alvardo (she/her)

Jasmina is an Elementary Education major. Jasmina is also an international student from Nicaragua. She enjoys traveling and spending time with family.

Kylee Parker

Kylee Parker (she/her)

Kylee is a sophomore from Pell City, Alabama. She is studying to become an Elementary school teacher. Kylee enjoys sewing, quality time with family and watching movies.

Amy Bennett (she/her)

Amy Bennett is a graduate student pursuing her Masters in Integrated Studies. She is also a freelance writer and author, having published numerous works of poetry as well as a children’s book. She is currently on her first novel.

Elizabeth Hall (she/her)

Elizabeth is a senior in the English program at Jacksonville State University with a concentration in literature. After her time at Jax State, she plans to pursue her goal of gaining a Juris Doctorate. She enjoys reading, listening to music and spending time with her family and friends.

Charles Harrell

Charles Harrell (he/him)

Charles Harrell is a senior English major with a passion for poetry and nonfiction of all kinds. Apart from call and work, Charles enjoys hiking, cooking, and watching movies. As part of JSU’s Writing Center team, he is dedicated to helping students refine their writing.

Amelia Horowitz (she/her)

Amelia is a consultant, writer, and poet who has worked at the Writing Center for three years while pursuing her bachelor’s in psychology. Amelia enjoys Taylor Swift, the Sims, and writing.

Madison Konopka (she/her)

Madison is an incoming junior with three years of tutor experience. She is a student athlete and plays on Jax State's Women's Volleyball team. Although sports is a big part of her life, she is excited to be involved academically as a tutor.

Matthew Allcorn (he/him)

Matthew is a graduate student from Cleveland, Alabama. He is working on a history degree so he can become a teacher. In his free time, Matthew enjoys playing basketball, watching movies, and spending time with family.

Will Cooper (he/him)

William is a graduate student from Collinsville, Alabama. His undergraduate was in English and he is looking to get a Master’s in education. He enjoys playing video games, running, and golfing.

Rachel Christopher is a mentor with the Writing Center and a middle/high school educator. She holds a bachelor's degree in Secondary Education ELA and is currently pursuing her master's degree. When she is not teaching, mentoring, or doing schoolwork, Rachel enjoys hiking and going to the library.

Isaac Krueger (he/him)

Isaac is a graduate student majoring in English. He has a bachelor's degree in English with a concentration in creative writing and loves poetry and fiction. Isaac believes that it's possible to make all writing fun and hopes to give all writers a sense of confidence in their writing. In his
free time, he likes to play video games, research random topics that spark his interest, and brainstorm new writing ideas.
