Check in questions to ask

General Check-In Questions

  • “How are things going with your new group/team/organization?”
  • “What’s your experience been like so far?”
  • “Are you feeling welcomed and supported?”

Behavioral and Emotional Cues

  • “You’ve seemed a little off lately—everything okay?”
  • “You look really tired/stressed—are you getting enough rest?”
  • “Have you been feeling overwhelmed or pressured lately?”

Group Dynamics

  • “What kinds of things does your group do together?”
  • “Do you ever feel uncomfortable with anything they ask you to do?”
  • “Is there anything going on that you wish you could talk to someone about?”

Encouraging Openness
