Childcare

State of Alabama

The State of Alabama Department of Human Resources (DHR) administers the state's subsidized child care program funded through the Child Care and Development Fund (CCDF).  The mission of the program is to provide Alabama’s low and moderate-income families with equal access to affordable and quality child care services as they participate in work, educational or training activities.

The DHR Subsidy Program web site explains how the program works.  If you are a JSU student looking for help with this affordable child care program, you need to contact the Child Care Management Agency that administers the program for your region of the state.

JSU Campus

The Child Development Center on JSU's campus offers expanded child care to the children of JSU students, faculty & staff, and the community.  Rates are extremely competitive with other centers in the area. The center follows the JSU calendar for 12-month employees and will be open from 7:30 am - 6:00 pm Monday through Friday. It is located at the former Kitty Stone Elementary School near the JSU campus.
