Thank you for sharing your news with us. The JSU Office of Public Relations publicizes events and shares news and announcements both on and off campus using a variety of mediums including local and statewide press releases, JSU homepage posts, the university’s official social media channels, the Red & White electronic newsletter, GEM alumni magazine and more.

Due to the tremendous number of news requests our small staff receives, we must focus on sharing news stories that directly advance the overall mission of the university and promote strategic plan initiatives. We make every attempt to assist faculty, staff and students with their publicity requests but we reserve the right to select the method and medium of distribution.

To improve our ability to assist you, we kindly request a minimum two-week notice prior to events in need of publicity. To fully maximize all “earned media” (free publicity) options, the best practice is a four-week notice. For general news and announcements (awards, grants, etc.) please notify the office immediately as timeliness is a factor when contacting the news media. As a general rule, we do not publicize outdated announcements.
