04/12/2024
Jax State’s College of Business and Industry has recently been awarded accreditation reaffirmation by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), considered the world-wide gold standard in business education. Established in 1916, AACSB International serves as a benchmark for quality assurance, offering insights and support to approximately 1,000 accredited business schools globally.
"The AACSB accreditation is not just a hallmark of excellence; it's a testament to our unwavering commitment to the highest standards of business education,” states Dr. Brent Cunningham, Dean for the Jax State College of Business and Industry. “It signifies our dedication to continuous improvement, innovation, and global impact in preparing our students for the challenges of tomorrow's business landscape.”
Less than six percent of all business schools globally attain AACSB accreditation. Accreditation is a voluntary, nongovernmental process that includes a rigorous external review of a school's mission, faculty qualifications, curricula, and ability to provide the highest-quality programs.
“This accreditation also underscores our faculty’s dedication to preparing students to excel in a rapidly evolving marketplace while creating positive change in the world through business leadership.” Cunningham added.
The mission of the College of Business and Industry is to provide learners with a career-focused education emphasizing responsible judgment, innovative thinking, entrepreneurial skills, and service to their communities. The College of Business and Industry is comprised of three professionally oriented academic areas - The Department of Communication, The Department of Applied Engineering and The Departments of Business, which houses The Gregory D. Brown Department of Finance, Economics & Accounting and The Lyons & Co., Inc Department of Management and Marketing.
