Jax State to Go Remote on Jan. 16 Due to Winter Weather

Due to winter weather conditions, Jax State will transition to remote operations for Tuesday, January 16. Please review the following important details. 

  • All students should check Canvas for information from their course faculty. No classes will meet on campus.
  • Supervisors should allow remote work of employees where possible. Supervisors will notify personnel and provide direction accordingly. 
  • Jack Hopper Dining Hall will be open for brunch, 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., and dinner, 5-7 p.m. All other dining locations and Kiwibot service wlll be closed. 
  • The Child Development Center, Little River Canyon Center, and Houston Cole Library will be closed. 
  • UREC will remain open regular hours, but all fitness classese are canceled. 
  • The RMC/JSU Health Center is open normal hours, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., but has extended its walk-in hours until 3:30 p.m. Call 256-782-5310 for more information.
  • The Bookstore will be open 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. 
  • The Student Job Fair planned for January 16 has been canceled but will be rescheduled for a later date.  
  • JSU Ride and the Jax State Bus will not be in operation. Service will resume on Wednesday, January 17, at 7 a.m.
  • The payment deadline for Spring 2024 is Wednesday, January 17. Payments can still be made online through MyJaxState by selecting “View Account/Make Payment."  In-person payments will resume when the university reopens on Wednesday, January 17.
