Since Graduation: 

David Mize

  • David received his MBA in Health and Healthcare Administration and Management at University of North Alabama in 2021
  • He is now the Executive IT Director and part of the Senior Leadership Team for Marshall Medical Centers, part of Huntsville Hospital Health System.
  • As CPSI Contract Programmer for Mize Programming LLC, David has developed data extraction toolkits for hospitals around the country. 

Dr. Thornton’s Python class freshman year, combined with Dr. Chao’s Oracle Database, gave me the knowledge to create direct data extraction toolkits for my current healthcare IT role. That quickly grew into doing the same for other hospitals in our health system. In recent years, that business grew nationwide in six states. In short, these classes became the building blocks for this success. Credit is also due to Dr. Francia, Dr. Trifas, Dr. Ford, Dr. KP, Dr. Garrett and others who exceedingly equipped me for the path ahead. Not only did they provide quite a future for me, a nice business on the side, and a path for further advancement both through employment and education, they’ve unknowingly helped many people in healthcare through the extracts provided.
