Meet the Director

Seth Johnson holding Emmy AwardsSeth Johnson received his MFA in Visual Communication from The University of Tennessee in 2002 and his BFA in Graphic Design from Jacksonville State University in 1999. For 12 years, he was an educator at Middle Tennessee State University, earning tenure and promotion to full professor. In 2014, Seth joined Jacksonville State University to pursue a career in academic administration as Department Head for Art and Design. Most recently he was promoted to Associate Dean for the College of Arts, Humanities, and Sciences. Seth continues to maintain an active record of creative activity, specifically in the area of film production and art direction. Over the course of his 22 years in academia, he has received multiple design awards and distinctions, including 13 Regional Emmy nominations and five Emmy wins. All of his Emmy wins are for documentary film production while serving as director of Longleaf Studios here at Jax State.
