Longleaf Studios

Longleaf Studios is an experiential learning entity housed in Jax State’s College of Arts, Humanities, and Sciences, where students learn the art of filmmaking through active learning opportunities. By partnering with external film professionals, our studio facilitates work-based learning opportunities for our students, culminating in the creation of realized client-based projects. Notably, Alabama Public Television has entrusted Longleaf Studios for the past six years to produce a series of hour-long documentaries spotlighting key historical events and figures in our state. Our work has garnered recognition from our peers with five Southeast Emmy awards honoring our dedication to documentary filmmaking excellence.
