West Village FAQs

West Village is exclusively for Upper-Class Students. First-year students are not eligible for this community.

Students currently living on campus can apply during the Housing Re-Application Process starting February 1, 2026, via the THD Self Service Portal.

While both buildings are located in the same complex, the amenities differ slightly:

  • West Village I: Apartment-style units with Full XL beds, in-unit laundry, and a full kitchen (stove/oven).

  • West Village II: Suite-style units with Full XL beds, central laundry facilities, and a kitchenette (full-size fridge, no stove).

  • West Village I: No. These units feature a full kitchen (including a stove and oven), a residential diining plan is optional.

  • West Village II: Yes. These units are equipped with kitchenettes (no stove or oven), residents are required to purchase a residential dining plan.

  • 4-Bedroom Apartment: $3,900.00 / semester (Proposed)

  • 2-Bedroom Apartment: $4,100.00 / semester (Proposed)

  • 1-Bedroom Apartment: $4,300.00 / semester (Proposed)

West Village II (Suites)Includes Kitchenette (Microwave/Fridge Only)

  • 4-Bedroom Suite: $3,600.00 / semester (Proposed)

  • 2-Bedroom Suite: $3,700.00 / semester (Proposed)

  • Studio: $3,800.00 / semester (Proposed)

The lease terms differ depending on which building you select:

  • West Village I (Apartments): 12-Month Lease. Residents in the Apartments sign a contract for Fall, Spring, AND Summer. You are financially responsible for all three terms, regardless of whether you stay on campus during the summer.

  • West Village II (Suites): 9-Month Lease. Residents in the Suites sign a contract for the Fall and Spring semesters only. You must move out in May (unless you sign a separate summer contract).

WEST VILLAGE I 12-Month Lease (Fall, Spring, & Summer)

Residents living at West Village I are responsible for three (3) payments each academic year (Fall 2026, Spring 2027, and Summer 2027). Residents may choose to pay in one of the two ways below.

Note: Rates are proposed and subject to change pending Board of Trustee approval.

Four-Bedroom Apartments

  • The cost of a four-bedroom unit is $3,900 per person per semester (fall, spring, and summer), or $5,850 per person per semester for fall and spring.

  • The default payment option is the three-payment method of $3,900 per student per semester (fall, spring, and summer).

  • If you would like to pay using the two-payment method of $5,850 per student per semester (fall and spring), you will select this option on your official Housing Contract sent to your JSU email.

Two-Bedroom Apartments

  • The cost of a two-bedroom unit is $4,100 per person per semester (fall, spring, and summer), or $6,150 per person per semester for fall and spring.

  • The default payment option is the three-payment method of $4,100 per student per semester (fall, spring, and summer).

  • If you would like to pay using the two-payment method of $6,150 per student per semester (fall and spring), you will select this option on your official Housing Contract sent to your JSU email.

One-Bedroom Apartments

  • The cost of a one-bedroom unit is $4,300 per person per semester (fall, spring, and summer), or $6,450 per person per semester for fall and spring.

  • The default payment option is the three-payment method of $4,300 per student per semester (fall, spring, and summer).

  • If you would like to pay using the two-payment method of $6,450 per student per semester (fall and spring), you will select this option on your official Housing Contract sent to your JSU email.

WEST VILLAGE II 9-Month Lease (Fall & Spring Only)

Residents living at West Village II are responsible for two (2) payments each academic year (Fall 2026 and Spring 2027). There is no required summer payment for this community unless a separate summer contract is signed.

Note: Rates are proposed and subject to change pending Board of Trustee approval.

  • 4-Bedroom Suite: $3,600 / semester (Fall & Spring)

  • 2-Bedroom Suite: $3,700 / semester (Fall & Spring)

  • Studio: $3,800 / semester (Fall & Spring)

West Village offers all-inclusive living. Your rate includes electricity, water, sewer, trash, and high-speed internet.

  • West Village I: Private bedroom with a Full XL bed, dresser, desk, and chair. The living room includes soft seating and a coffee/end table. The kitchen includes barstools.

  • West Village II: Private bedroom with a Full XL bed, chest of drawers, desk, and chair.

  • West Village I: Yes. Units feature a full kitchen with a refrigerator, range/oven, and dishwasher.

  • West Village II: Units feature a kitchenette with a full-size refrigerator and counter space (no stove/oven).

  • Microwaves: Microwaves are not provided, but space is available in the kitchen/kitchenette for residents to bring one per unit (no higher than 700 watt units).

  • Mini-Fridges: Since full-size refrigerators are provided in every unit, personal mini-fridges are prohibited in individual bedrooms.

  • West Village I: Washer and dryer are included inside every apartment.

  • West Village II: A free-use laundry facility is located within the building.

Beds in West Village are adjustable height but are not designed to be lofted.

Yes. You will need to provide your own shower curtain and hooks. Standard length (72" x 72") or extra long (84") recommendations will be confirmed prior to move-in.

Yes, but to protect the new paint/drywall:

  • Allowed: Push pins, tacks, and mounting putty.

  • NOT Allowed: Command Strips (they damage paint upon removal), LED strip lights with adhesive backing, or nails.

West Village will open for Fall 2026. Specific move-in dates and times will be assigned in July 2026.
