Early Acceptance to Honors & ACT Society
Early Acceptance to Honors
High school seniors of notable academic excellence are eligible to join the Honors Program prior to attending Jacksonville State University. Only students already accepted to Jax State may apply. Once accepted into the Honors Program, students will have access to Honors’ on and off-campus resources and may attend Honors events. Membership will facilitate connections between current Jax State Honors Program members and with early acceptance. All accepted students will receive recognition on the Dean’s List and a special certificate.
Criteria for Early Acceptance:
- Current high school senior
- Acceptance to Jax State directly from high school
- Composite ACT score of 25 or greater OR composite SAT score of 1210 or greater
- Completion of Honors application, including a letter of recommendation from a high school teacher
- 3.0+ GPA

ACT Society
Academically qualified high school students are automatically eligible for Jacksonville State University’s ACT Society. Acceptance will grant members access to Honors Program resources and events. All members will receive recognition on the Dean’s List and a special certificate.
Criteria for Society membership:
- Current high school senior or junior
- Composite ACT score of 25 or greater OR composite SAT score of 1210 or greater
- Completion of an application process, including a letter of recommendation from a high school teacher
- 3.0+ GPA
