Individual Wellness

Individual wellness considers the dimensions of wellness to:

  • Ensure that students, employees, and the region we serve are connected to each other;
  • Advocate for adequate health and wellness programs;
  • Advocate for financial literacy programs to assist individuals make sound financial decisions;
  • Connect individuals with opportunities to develop themselves intellectually and seek out rewarding career opportunities;
  • Engage with their environment to have a positive impact on the local community;
  • Encourage diverse collaboration to develop cultural awareness and competencies about issues impacting groups within our community;
  • Provide a safe and open space for individuals to explore their identities to grow personally, intellectually, and spiritually.

Systemic Wellness (wellbeing)

Systemic Wellness (wellbeing) examines the environments and systems in place to ensure that all
people can be well within these systems. By taking a systems and environmental approach, JSU can:

  • Reduce barriers to access individuals may face related to wellness;
  • Ensure sustainability;
  • Prioritize safety;
  • Prioritize wellness in projects, strategic initiatives, and daily operations.
