Provost's Faculty Fellow: Quality Assessment of Student Learning Outcomes
- Build faculty confidence in designing, implementing, and interpreting high-quality assessments across disciplines.
- Clarify the purpose and process of assessment to make it more approachable, transparent, and actionable for teaching and program improvement.
- Identify assessment methods that balance meaningful feedback with manageable workload for faculty and students.
- Support faculty in aligning assessments across courses and programs to ensure coherence in student learning outcomes.
- Advance the Strategic Plan by ensuring assessment practices contribute to institutional accountability, accreditation, and student success.
To be considered for selection as a spring cohort participant in the Provost's Quality Assessment of Student Learning Outcomes track, applicants must:
- Attend at least three sessions from the Jax MIX Advancing Quality Assessment series and/or the “Engage Jax State Listen & Learn with a Focus on Internship Assessment” session, which is part of the Engaged Learning: Engaged Jax State and HIPs at Jax State series, during Fall 2025.
Completion of these requirements ensures applicants are well-prepared to engage in effective assessment practices, curriculum alignment, and the broader goals of the fellowship.

While Faculty Commons encourages registration for Provost’s Faculty Fellows meetings, it is not a requirement to pre-register to attend meetings, with the exception of the Provost’s Faculty Fellows Luncheon.
