Liability Insurance

Liability insurance is a requirement of all courses that have a clinical experience component: practicums and internships. Coverage is required in the amount of $1,000,000.00 with coverage dates spanning the duration of the semester the field experience takes place.

Beginning Fall 2019, a $1,000,000.00 liability insurance policy will be provided to every student in the JSU College of Education and Professional Studies with a field experience. There is no action needed by you to obtain this policy. When you enroll in a practicum or internship course, your policy will be provided for you.

Students will receive an email from AEA (Alabama Education Association) offering them a free membership to SAEA (Student AEA). Students are encouraged to join SAEA, as they offer many benefits to their members, but membership is not required by JSU College of Education and Professional Studies and is not required for your liability insurance policy to be in effect.
