Office of Diversity and Inclusion

Diversity and Inclusion Staff

The goal of the Office of Diversity and Inclusion is to demonstrate inclusion, diversity, equity, and acceptance of various cultures at Jacksonville State University and our community. We strive to generate a campus of mutual admiration and kindness. All of our discussions and programs are offered to students as well as faculty and staff intentionally as voluntary sessions. We do not have any diversity and inclusion mandated activities. We are determined to live up to our motto as being, “The Friendliest Campus in the South” by educating our students on the true meaning of cultural awareness and respect.

Diversity refers to the traits and characteristics that make people unique while inclusion refers to the behaviors and social norms that ensure people experience a sense of belonging. Jacksonville State University is committed to celebrating and welcoming differences. Understanding and appreciating interdependence of humanity and cultures. JSU’s Office of Diversity and Inclusion is dedicated to intentionally creating a welcoming environment to all of our students.
