Mission and Goals
Jax State Mission and Purpose
Our mission is to contribute to the internationalization of Jacksonville State University by providing a variety of study abroad programs and opportunities including but not limited to faculty-led, exchange, research, and independent study. Accomplishment of this mission supports JSU’s mission to provide distinctive educational, cultural, and societal experiences to prepare students to be competent, ethical professionals and engaged, responsible, global citizens.
The JSU Study Abroad Program will expand and provide effective coordination for logistics and implementation of study abroad programs for departments and colleges, including assisting in the enrollment process of and preparation for faculty and students who are traveling abroad, as well as supporting health and safety of faculty and students traveling abroad.

Goals
JSU Study Abroad strives to:
- Expand study abroad opportunities that are affordable and accessible to all students.
- Create an efficient on-boarding process that is easy for students and faculty to follow.
- Market study abroad programs through workshops and events.
- Continue to have policies and procedures in place to ensure the health and safety of all travelers abroad.
- Expand student learning development before, during, and after the study abroad program.
- Celebrate study abroad participation by students, faculty, and staff.
