Adult Learner Support

Jax State defines adult learners as students 25 years of age or older pursuing a higher education degree.  Academic Support and Success in the Student Success Center strives to assist adult learners in achieving their educational goals.  Adults in college often face unique challenges.  The responsibilities of family, work, and college can be both demanding and difficult.  Sometimes these responsibilities may hinder a student's ability to accomplish goals, leading to disappointment and frustration.  The Academic Support and Success team is available to serve adult learners and nontraditional students by helping them reach their full potential.

There are many free academic resources offered to adult learners.  They include traditional in-person tutoring, Supplemental Instruction, virtual 24/7 tutoring through Tutor.com, Success Coaching, and evening academic workshops tailored to fit the needs of adults in college
