Ways the JSU Pre-law Program helped prepare you for law school: The most impactful way the pre-law program helped prepare me for law school was by offering practice LSAT tests. Having the opportunity to sit in an environment similar to the actual test helped mentally and physically prepare me to sit through the test, as well as prepare me for the type of questions that would be asked. By taking the test with my peers, it also helped foster conversation about certain sections being tested for us to discuss different ways to study to up our scores. Preparing for law school can be very stressful so knowing I had the support of my peers and professors to help get to that next level was incredibly helpful.

Advice for those considering law school: I recommend taking as many “difficult” classes as possible. It is helpful to take rigorous classes while in undergrad to prepare for the level of difficulty in law school. I also highly recommend taking literature classes. Law school is all about reading and analyzing case law, so learning how to read with intention is an invaluable tool that will help with success in law school. Ultimately, in preparing to begin your legal education, I recommend knowing the reason why you want to pursue a career in law.
