Heritage Society Member Induction and Brunch

On October 9, Jacksonville State University hosted its inaugural Heritage Society Member Induction and Brunch at Houston Cole Library to honor individuals who have invested in the university’s future through planned giving.

“The Heritage Society is much more than a group of donors—it is a vital force behind the continued growth and excellence of Jacksonville State University,” Jax State President Dr. Don C. Killingsworth, Jr., said to those in attendance. “Through your planned giving, you are investing in the lives of our students, the advancement of our programs, and the betterment of our community. Your generosity helps ensure that Jax State continues to be a place where dreams are realized and futures are shaped for generations to come.”

The event celebrated the profound impact of the Heritage Society, including transformative gifts like the Joseph Walter Elliott Scholarship, which has supported more than 2,000 students since its creation. Attendees pledged their commitment to Jax State, embodying the values of loyalty, service, and pride, while advancing the university’s mission of educational excellence.
