The 2020 Virtual Foothills Piano Festival is sponsored by the David L. Walters Department of Music at Jacksonville State University. The festival, under the direction of Dr. Wendy Freeland, contains Piano Stories by JSU Faculty and JSU Piano Major Alumni, as well as performances by Rachel Park, Kris Carlise, Eun-Hee Park, Joohae Kim, Rachel Chung and Jonathan Han. Music presented includes Variations on a theme by Haydn, Op. 56b, by Johannes Brahms, Variations on a Theme by Paganini for Two Pianos by Witold Lutoslawski, Sonata in E Major, Op. 109 by Ludwig van Beethoven, Etude Tableau in A Minor, Op. 39, No. 6 by Sergie Rachmaninoff, Alborada del gracioso from Miroirs by Maurice Ravel, Ballade in G Minor, Op. 23, No. 1 by Frederic Chopin, Nutcracker –Suite for Two Pianos by Pyotr Tchaikovsky, arranged by Nicolas Economou, Suite Burlesque by Germaine Tailleferre, Funf Stucke by Gyorgy Ligeti, Sonate by Francis Poulenc, and Souvenirs—Ballet Suite, Op. 28 by Samuel Barber.
