Mark Brandon, a native of Lexington, Kentucky, has taught at JSU since 1999. In addition to the clarinet studio, he teaches aural skills, class woodwinds, clarinet choir, and first year orientation.
He received both his Bachelor of Music Education and his Masters of Music in Clarinet Performance from the University of South Carolina where he studied with Doug Graham. His other teachers include Mike Acord, Ronald Munsen, and Clyde Gilpin.
Mr. Brandon has performed with various groups such as the South Carolina Philharmonic Orchestra, Augusta Symphony, Newberry Opera Company, and Gadsden Symphony. His teaching background includes serving as a band director in Saluda and Newberry, South Carolina.
In 2000, Mr. Brandon was inducted as an honorary member of Epsilon Nu Chapter of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Fraternity at Jacksonville State University.
