Field Training Officer (FTO) Instructor Course

The Northeast Alabama Law Enforcement Academy will present a Field Training Officer (FTO) Instructor Course. The tuition for the course includes all handout materials and refreshments. This course is designed for veteran and newly assigned FTO's within their agencies. The course will begin at the Academy at 8:00 am.

Using the San Jose model as its core, the course features the legally defendable evaluation process that is being used in public safety agencies across the country and which has been adopted by the CALEA accreditation standards.

Attendees will learn how to teach the FTO program structure, how to modify it, key elements and documentation.
