About the College
Message from the Dean
Welcome to the College of Health Professions and Wellness!
The Jacksonville State University College of Health Professions and Wellness was established to deliver a top-quality education for 21st century professionals to promote health and wellness in our communities, state, nation, and around the world. The departments of nursing, respiratory therapy, and kinesiology have developed undergraduate and graduate programs utilizing the latest evidence-based practices. It is our goal to prepare future leaders in health and wellness professions.
We have 5 undergraduate majors that are offered on campus:
- Nursing
- Respiratory Therapy
- Exercise Science and Wellness
- Health and Physical Education
- Sport Management and Recreation
Each of these majors prepares you for immediate job placement in your chosen major or to pursue a graduate degree. Our faculty are experts in their field and our students are sought out by employers upon graduation. Whether you decide to enter the workforce or continue your education, our undergraduate programs prepare you for both.
We also have several graduate programs including:
- Nursing, Masters and Doctor (on-line)
- Athletic Training, Masters (hybrid)
- Sport Management, Masters (on-line)
- Physical Education, Masters, 5th year (on-line)
Lastly, we have two on-line programs for current Nurses and Respiratory Therapists who desire to pursue their bachelor’s degree:
- RN to BSN
- RRT to BS program
Whatever your health and wellness career pursuit, the CHPW has a program for you. Our talented faculty and staff are ready to work with you to meet your academic goals. We are committed to your academic success as much as you are!
