College to Career Initiatives Faculty Learning & Listening Tour
Preparing students for what comes after graduation doesn't have to mean adding more to your course. The College to Career Series connects faculty with the resources, services, and support available through Jax State's College to Career Initiatives team to help students connect what they are learning in the classroom to their future careers.
Through in-class presentations, career readiness workshops, mock interviews, career fairs, individual student support, and First Destination Survey data, College to Career offers practical ways to strengthen career readiness across disciplines.
The College to Career Series seeks to:
- Strengthen connections between classroom learning and career readiness
- Increase faculty awareness of College to Career resources
- Make career readiness easy to incorporate
- Support program improvement and student success
- Build stronger partnerships between faculty and College to Career
Why Should Faculty Attend?
Whether you want to add career readiness to a course, strengthen an existing assignment, or simply better understand the resources available to your students, the College to Career team can help.
Faculty can learn how to:
- Bring career readiness into the classroom with little to no extra prep
- Request in-class presentations on resumes, cover letters, interview skills, job search platforms, and job search strategies
- Connect students with hands-on experiences through mock interviews, workshops, and career fairs
- Strengthen connections between classroom learning, career skills, and employer expectations
- Access First Destination Survey (FDS) data to support accreditation, assessment, and program improvement
- Better connect students with College to Career resources and individualized support

Lunch & Learn Session 1: Wednesday, August 26th

College to Career Listening Tour
The College to Career team also wants to hear from you. Stop by during one of our fall Listening Tour sessions to share what you're seeing in your classrooms and programs, ask questions, and talk with the team about how College to Career can better support faculty and students.
No formal presentation—just an opportunity for conversation, feedback, and connection.
Listening Stop 1: October 1st

- Event Location: Merrill Hall – Faculty Lounge
Stop by anytime during the two-hour window. Refreshment pick-me-ups will be provided.
Listening Stop 2: November 9
- Event Date: Monday, November 9
- Event Time: 9:00–11:00 a.m.
- Event Location: Ayers Hall
Stop by anytime during the two-hour window. Refreshment pick-me-ups will be provided.
When you register for a workshop, you will receive a calendar invitation at your JSU Outlook email. Calendar invites are sent manually by Brandy Roberts, so please allow up to two business hours for delivery. Once you accept the invitation, the event will appear on your Outlook calendar. If you do not receive or cannot locate the invite, please contact Brandy Roberts at broberts@jsu.edu.
Registration is encouraged for all professional development sessions but is not required to attend. However, pre-registration is required for any session that includes lunch. Faculty are always welcome to attend without registering, but lunch is only provided for those who have pre-registered.
