The Jacksonville State University (JSU) Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) is excited to offer a week-long, intensive grant proposal development training for JSU faculty and professional staff. This exclusive opportunity is designed to equip participants with the skills needed to develop highly competitive grant proposals.

This training is specifically tailored to meet the needs of Jax State faculty and professional staff, ensuring hands-on learning and immediate application of best practices in grant writing, funder research, and program planning.

Program Goals
- Equip JSU faculty and professional staff with comprehensive knowledge of grant proposal development through the premier training provided by The Grantsmanship Center International (TGCI).
- Ensure that participants acquire the necessary skills to develop highly competitive grant proposals that align with institutional and funding agency priorities.
- Support Jax State faculty and staff in securing external grant funding by providing structured training in funder research, program planning, and proposal writing.
- Encourage faculty and professional staff participation in grant-seeking activities by providing an intensive, hands-on learning experience.
- Establish a common framework and approach for grant development across departments and units, ensuring consistency and effectiveness in funding applications.
- Utilize the experience of OSP and OIRE leadership to guide participants in applying TGCI methodologies, fostering a culture of grant success at JSU.

Commitment & Expectation
- Participants must commit to attending all five days of training and will be required to submit a grant proposal to a potential sponsor within one year.
- The OSP team and Assistant Vice Provost of OIRE will provide ongoing guidance and support throughout the process.
Competitive Process
- Faculty and Staff (limited number of slots) who are interested must apply.
- Slots are available for a total of 25 participants only.
- Applications will be reviewed by a selection committee and those selected will be notified by the Office of Sponsored Programs via email.
Cost
- This customized training is offered free of charge to participants, thanks to funding from the OSP. It’s important to note that this training typically costs over $3,700 per person, making this an incredible opportunity for JSU faculty and staff to gain premier grant-writing expertise at no personal expense.
