Program Description and Goals
Faculty Commons is excited to announce the OER Trailblazers Series, an exciting, compensated initiative to support 24 faculty members in the adoption of Open Educational Resources (OER).

- Encourage OER integration
- Promote leadership in Open Education
What do I have to do?
Faculty participants (24 total) will complete the following steps to receive compensation in the amount of $500 to be paid out in September 2025. Key deliverables include finalizing the textbook adoption by March 2025 and submitting all program requirements by August 1, 2025:
- Select a course to adopt an OER textbook
- Register the OER text with the JSU bookstore (adoption of the textbook through the Jax State bookstore should be completed by March 2025)
- Integrate the OER text into the course syllabus for the Fall 2025 semester.
- Distribute an OER survey to students
Why should I participate?
Participants of the OER Trailblazer Series are directly contributing valuable insights into the impact of OER on learning at JSU.
Will there be support for participants?
As part of this Faculty Commons Series, participants can drop in at any of three optional sessions hosted in Faculty Commons for additional support. These sessions will feature a past OER Fellow who shares their experience and offers practical advice.
