The Faculty Mentor Collective
The JSU Faculty Mentor Collective (FMC) is a dynamic initiative designed to foster meaningful faculty-student relationships that enrich the college experience. The program supports students through academic guidance, career exploration, and personal development.
Selected faculty will join a cohort of 20 mentors to collaboratively design and implement mentoring strategies across departments and colleges. Through engaging events, discovery sessions, and strategic planning, participants will help shape a culture of mentorship at JSU.
Program Highlights:
- Build connections that support student success, research, and skill development
- Gain insights into career paths, industry expectations, and networking opportunities
- Participate in collaborative workshops, lunches, and strategy sessions
- Present findings at the SSC Summit and contribute to campus-wide mentoring efforts
- Receive up to $250 in stipends for full participation and deliverables
- Cultivate connections that support students’ academic success, personal growth, and professional development.
- Promote critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving through mentorship and collaborative experiences.
- Provide students with insights into career paths, industry expectations, and networking opportunities.
- Engage faculty in the design and implementation of mentoring strategies at the department and college levels.
- Develop and share mentoring strategies and deliverables that can be scaled across campus through workshops, summits, and leadership collaboration.
Selected faculty participants in the JSU Faculty Mentor Collective will receive compensation of up to $250 based on their level of engagement and contributions throughout the program.
Tiered Stipend Structure:
- $250 – Attend both half-day workshops, both lunch events, and submit a mentoring strategy deliverable by October 24th to be shared at the department/college level. *Deliverable date subject to change.
- $200 – Attend both half-day workshops, one lunch event, and submit the mentoring strategy deliverable by October 24th. *Deliverable date subject to change.
- No stipend – For limited participation and/or incomplete deliverables.
