Provost's Track: Experiential Learning: Fall 2023

  •  To encourage students to become active and engaged citizens by providing opportunities to work on community-based projects and initiatives that address real-world issues.
  • To enhance students' personal and professional skills, such as communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and leadership, through experiential learning opportunities.
  • To integrate academic learning with practical experience by providing opportunities for students to apply their knowledge and skills to real-world situations.

TitleProvost’s Experiential Learning Expert Speaker Dr. Kristina Phillips

DescriptionFaculty Commons welcomes Dr. Kristina Phillips, Executive Director of QEP and General Education at Jackson State University. Her research, teaching, and practice focus on experiential education in higher education, specifically for domestic travel programs, internships, and career development. Dr. Phillips coordinates institutional committees and initiatives that advance equity and access to experiential learning opportunities. She was the 2019 winner of NSEE’s Dissertation of the Year Award and co-chaired the 50th Annual NSEE Conference in Orlando, FL in 2021. Please join us as Dr. Phillips shares her extensive experience in experiential learning with our Jax State faculty.
