Celebrate Earth Day at the JSU Canyon Center Saturday, April 20th
Fort Payne, AL – April 15, 2024 Get ready for a day of family-friendly fun and environmental education at Jacksonville State University’s Little River Canyon Center Earth Day Celebration! This exciting event, set to take place on Saturday, April 20th, features a wide range of activities and entertainment for the entire family. All events are completely free.
The schedule for the day is packed with activities, including:
- 10 am to 12 pm– Solar Powered Live Music featuring Dad Company: Enjoy live music as Dad Company takes the stage to entertain the crowd. All music performances will be powered by a solar generator, compliments of Bill Fleming with the Get Off the Grid Fest.
- 10 am – Yoga: Find your zen with a relaxing yoga session amidst the beauty of our surroundings with Soul Shine Yoga & Wellness Studio. Class will be outdoors if weather permits.
- 11:30 am– 12 pm - Family Yoga: Join us for a family-friendly yoga session suitable for all ages, including kids, with Soul Shine Yoga & Wellness Studio.
- 12:15 pm – Animal Presentation: Join the JSU Field School for a live, interactive animal presentation.
- 1 pm – 3 pm – Solar Powered Live Music featuring Jess Goggans: Groove to the soulful tunes of Jess Goggans as she performs live on stage.
In addition to the exciting activities lined up throughout the day, there will be a Sidewalk Chalk Competition for kids, adults, and teams of two. Attendees can stroll through the Electric Vehicle Showcase to learn about electric vehicles and chat with owners to get all your questions answered. Visitors can make crafts and engage with local nonprofits and venders. Be sure to walk the Storybook Hike along the half-mile loop, the Path to Learning, and embark on a self-guided literary adventure through nature. Enjoy local cuisine from Victoria’s Tacos & Quesadillas.
