Secondary Education
The Secondary Education programs (Grades 6-12) support the JSU learning-centered mission through the development of highly qualified teachers who are well-prepared to instruct a diverse student population using the knowledge, skills, and dispositions required by professional educators.
There are four Secondary Education Programs to choose from:
- English Language Arts Education (make each of these a link to the program page)
- Science Education
- Social Studies Education
- Mathematics Education
A graduate in one of the Secondary Education programs is qualified for a Class B teaching certification in the State of Alabama and is well prepared to step into any classroom and exemplify the best of education.
Students considering education related fields are invited to consider a minor in Secondary Education. A minor in Secondary Education does not require making a choice among the four programs.
