Weekly COVID-19 Update
Dear Students, Faculty, and Staff,
As promised, our team has continuously monitored campus and regional COVID-19 cases, hospitalizations, and statewide death tolls. Due to the substantial increases in these conditions, JSU is extending our campus mask requirement through Sept. 10. These conditions will be continuously watched, and we will again reevaluate the local risk of COVID-19 at that time.
The university is committed to offering students a full college experience, while continuing to mitigate COVID-19. We ask for students, staff, and faculty to continue to do their part to limit the spread of the virus. For information on reporting exposures and positive cases, please visit jsu.edu/coronavirus.
Testing Options on Campus and Around Town
On-campus testing is available Monday-Friday mornings at the RMC/JSU Health Center, beginning at 8 a.m. For off-campus locations that test for COVID-19, please visit the Alabama Department of Public Health's list of providers.
Vaccine Opportunities
If you haven't done so already, please consider joining the more than 3,000 Gamecocks who have received their COVID-19 vaccination to date. Local availability can be found at vaccines.gov, and individual appointments may be scheduled on campus at the RMC/JSU Student Health Center for Tuesdays and Thursdays, 1-3 p.m., by calling 256-782-5310. Groups of 10 or more can schedule their own vaccine clinic by simply emailing covidquestions@jsu.edu with the organization’s name, a phone number for a contact person, and a count of how many individuals want the vaccine.
Vaccine Incentive Countdown
For the Moderna vaccine, you have two weeks left to begin your vaccine series and still be eligible for the campus Vaccine Incentive Program. If you’ve already received your vaccine doses, log into MyJSU and click the Vaccine Incentive Form under “Featured Links.”
