COVID-19 Update

Dear Students, Faculty, and Staff,

It is up to every Gamecock to continue to do our part to keep our campus safe and moving forward in a responsible way. In order for us to gauge the threat of COVID-19 on our campus, we ask that you please take a moment to complete a brief survey.

Currently, the most important contribution that each of us can offer our fellow Gamecocks is to roll up our sleeve and be fully vaccinated.
The COVID-19 vaccine is now widely available, and you can find availability near you by visiting vaccines.gov and searching your zip code.

We understand that many of you have questions about the vaccine, and we’ve done our best to answer many of the points we have heard with a Vaccine FAQ list. Most of all, our COVID-19 Task Force recommends that each person talk with your trusted physician or pharmacist and, if you are medically able, get the vaccine as soon as possible.

JSU is preparing the specific process for active students and employees to receive incentives after being vaccinated. Further details on how to redeem incentives will be available soon.

The university remains committed to helping each member of our campus community. The latest protocol and information for COVID-19 will be posted regularly on the COVID-19 website.

Based on updated guidance from the CDC, masks are strongly recommended to be worn while indoors at this time.
Personal protective supplies for campus can be requested online through Capital Planning and Facilities.

If you have specific COVID related questions, please feel free to email the Task Force at covidquestions@jsu.edu or call 256-782-5282.

In Service,

Michael Barton
Director of Public Safety
