Last Edit: February 26, 2025
¹ Courses will be added or cancelled based on sufficient course demand, as established by the Office of Academic Affairs. Students are responsible for knowing our course rotation, which goes into effect in Fall of 2022. The rotation is subject to update each academic year, after a reassessment of course demand during each Fall semester, and will be implemented at the beginning of the next academic year. Summer Courses are particularly based on course demand.
² In compliance with ACEJMC accreditation, we production lab courses are capped at an enrollment of 20. Students will not be overloaded into 20-cap courses, but are welcome to indicate interest to permit departmental review to gauge need for additional sections. Our PR/AD Capstone is also hard-capped at 25, in compliance with ACEJMC standards. Overload requests in our survey and principles courses remain at the discretion of the instructor and requires the authorization of the Department Head. It is the responsibility of our students to seek advisement early and register promptly.
³ COM 306, 307, 308 and 310 will be taught in a rotational offering each academic year. COM 310 will be specifically offered during the fall of election years, both mid-term and presidential, to maximize on teaching examples during the term. For COM 306, 307, and 308, availability to rotate in non-election years in the fall, as well as in rotation each spring and summer based on demand. As elective courses, students are not required to take these for major completion.
⁴ COM 319 and COM 352 will go live as part of the 2025-2026 catalog addition of Sports Media and Analytics. Each course, however, will not go into rotation until Fall 2026, as we onboard new students in the program and get them through prerequisites for each course, successfully.
