Admission Requirements
Admission Requirements for the MBA Degree
All students seeking admission to the MBA program must have completed the application process and been admitted to the program prior to enrolling in MBA classes. Applicants are admitted on a selective basis upon review of the completed application package.
Unconditional Admission
To obtain unconditional admission into the MBA program, students must meet one of the following pathways:
Pathway #1
- Undergraduate degree from an AACSB-accredited business program
- 3.0+ Undergraduate GPA
Pathway #2
- Undergraduate degree from an accredited institution
- 3.0+ Undergraduate GPA
- 3 years professional work experience* OR
GMAT score ≥ 400 - Completion of 3 required foundational courses:
BA 5100 Statistics & Quantitative Methods
BA 5102 Contemporary Economic Fundamentals
BA 5111 Concepts of Finance & Accounting
*Adequate professional work experience will be determined by an evaluation of the applicant’s resume by a committee of graduate faculty.
**Foundational course requirements may be waived after review of transcripts.
Conditional Admission
Any applicant failing to meet the requirements for admission, as defined above, may be considered for conditional admission if the student meets one of the following pathways:
Pathway #1
- Undergraduate degree from an accredited institution
- Undergraduate GPA of 2.75 OR
GPA of 3.00+ on last 30 hours of undergraduate degree - 3 years professional work experience OR
GMAT score ≥ 400
Pathway #2
- Hold a graduate degree from an accredited university
All applications will be reviewed by the MBA Director for the College of Business and Industry. The MBA Director will submit to the Dean, Graduate School their recommendation on the admission of each applicant. The Dean of the Graduate School, in conjunction with the MBA Director, will make the final decision on the admission of the student.
Students who are granted conditional admission must achieve a GPA of at least 3.00 on the first 12 graduate hours attempted within the time frame specified in the student’s admissions letter. Failure to comply will result in the student being dropped from the program.
Transfer Credit
Transfer credits are accepted from AACSB International accredited schools only. No transfer credit(s) will be accepted once students are enrolled in the MBA program, except in cases of extreme hardship to be determined by the MBA Program Director and the Dean of the Graduate School.
