We’re thrilled to welcome Sarah Faulkner as Interim Director of Friends of the Visual Arts (FoVA)!

Sarah brings a wealth of experience and passion to FoVA. She teaches as an adjunct in the Department of Art + Design and serves as Coordinator for Jax State’s Honors College. Holding an M.A. in Art History and Archaeology from Columbia University and a B.A. in Art and Sociology from UAB, Sarah’s research explores how art shapes culture and politics—a journey that has taken her from India to Japan on a Fulbright U.S. Student Program grant.

Her academic expertise, curatorial experience, and commitment to community engagement drive FoVA’s mission: supporting students, celebrating local artists, and fostering accessible visual arts initiatives. As Interim Director, Sarah collaborates with faculty, students, alumni, and community partners to grow membership, fund scholarships and supplies, and champion exhibitions and programs that amplify the impact of visual arts at Jax State and beyond.
