Jacksonville State University will once again host the Alabama Supreme Court Arguments this fall. Please check this page often for updates.

  • Doors Open: 8:30 am 
Please allow time for security clearance
  • Welcome: 9:30 am
  • Oral Arguments Begin: 10 am  
 Please note: No entry or exit will be permitted once arguments begin.

 

Students are required to pre-register for oral arguments. The deadline to pre-register is Thursday, September 12.

Special Lecture following Oral Arguments: 

“Blackstone’s Commentaries and the Foundations of American Law,”
by Chief Justice Tom Parker, Alabama Supreme Court

  • Location: 11th floor, Houston Cole Library
  • Lecture Begins: 11:30 am
Please note: No entry or exit during the special lecture by the Chief Justice. You should plan to stay for the entire lecture, which will conclude by 12:25 p.m.
  • Lecture will be followed by a Q and A session.
  • This lecture will profile Sir William Blackstone’s influence on the American Founding and will be of interest to students considering law school.
  • The Lecture and Q and A will conclude by 12:25 p.m.
  • Light Refreshments will be provided.
  • Pre-Registration is Required to attend the Lecture.
