Alabama Science in Motion (ASIM)

AMSTI Science in Motion logoThe Alabama Science in Motion program (ASIM) at JSU, one of eleven in the state, serves high schools within the JSU Inservice Center region. This partnership is a visionary education program established in 1994 by the Alabama Legislature for the purpose of enriching the teaching and learning of high school science, and serves as the Secondary Science component of the Alabama Math, Science, and Technology Initiative (AMSTI). The program at JSU provides instructional support in biology, physics and chemistry. Each science field has a truck with over $200,000 worth of state-of-the art equipment and supplies for use in high school science labs. High school teachers participating in this program are provided professional development in the teaching of science and the use of the equipment.
