Victory Center
The Victory Center (VC) is a collaboration between JSU and community providers to provide mental and physical health services, training, and support programming for veterans, reservists, and their families.
The Victory Center Model includes FIVE key components:
- Mental Health Counseling Services
- Case Management Services
- Social Opportunities or Engagement
- First Responder Training
- Community Partner Services
Mental Health Counseling Services
The Victory Center offers the following mental health services:
- Individual
- Family
- Group
Delivery Format:
- In-Person
- Telehealth (Online)
Holistic Case Management Services
The VC serves as a clearinghouse to connect Alabama Veterans and their families to community and statewide resources. Clinical interns from the Department of Social Work provide information, referrals and outreach for the Victory Center.
Holistic Case Management focuses on the following services:
- Housing Stability / Basic Needs
- Access to medical and mental health resources
- VA Benefits/Enrollments
- Job Search Assistance
- Financial Coaching
- Legal Services
Social Opportunities
The Victory Center will use resources on campus to provide opportunities for:
- Social and cultural gatherings
- Development of community support (individual, family, and community levels)
First Responder Training
Certified Trainers will work with the Center for Best Practices in Law Enforcement to provide trainings, throughout the 15-county service area, to:
- Augment Veteran mental health responses
- Enhance the knowledge, skills, and attitudes of first responders when working with Veterans in crisis
