Admission Requirements
JSU is test optional for freshman admission for the 2022-2023 academic year, meaning ACT/SAT scores are not required for admission. Students will be evaluated for admission based on the high school grade point average (GPA)*.
Although test scores are not required, JSU recommends students send test scores each time they take an exam. Test scores can be used for admission into specific academic programs, placement into courses, and for some scholarships.
Students who are not granted admission to the university based on the initial evaluation of high school grade point average may appeal their admissions decision to the Undergraduate Admissions Committee.
