Apply for Admission
Applying for admission to JSU is simple!
- Complete the application for admission online.
- Submit all required documents for your admission type (see How Do I Attend?)
JSU will accept requests, for first year students who have a financial need, to waive the $35 admissions application fee. Transfer students who send a FAFSA to JSU that has a pell eligible estimated family contribution (EFC) will be considered for a fee waiver. Requests from freshmen students who submit documentation including ACT/CollegeBoard fee waivers, NACAC fee waivers, and letters/emails from a high school administrator or counselor will qualify for a fee waiver. Students may complete an admissions application and select that they will be requesting a fee waiver to submit their application. Documentation of that request will be added as a supplemental item to complete the application. More information regarding eligibility for pell grants and EFC information is available.
JSU Admissions Appeals
Jacksonville State University considers all students who apply for admission based on a submitted application, high school grade point average, ACT/SAT scores, and other forms of documentation to support a student’s ability to be a successful college student. Should students not meet the admissions requirements set by JSU, they have the right to appeal their admissions decision by providing additional documentation. For more information, please visit the JSU Admission Appeals page.
