Cheryl Orange

Cheryl L. Bevelle-Orange is a trailblazing technology executive, award-winning leader, and proud two-time Jacksonville State University alumna. With more than 30 years of experience in corporate leadership, Cheryl brings to the Jax State Board of Trustees a deep commitment to innovation, diversity, and student opportunity.

Cheryl graduated from Jax State in 1990 with dual degrees in Computer Information Systems and Marketing. Originally from Bessemer, Alabama, Cheryl describes her time at Jax State as life-changing—citing the university’s welcoming atmosphere, strong sense of community, and the countless opportunities that shaped her personal and professional development.

Orange went on to earn an Executive MBA from Christian Brothers University and built a distinguished career at FedEx, where she rose to executive roles as Managing Director - FedEx Services and Chief Information Officer - FedEx Custom Critical. Post retirement from FedEx, she joined Becton Dickinson as Head of Technology Vendor Management, where she managed over $500 million in technology contracts and led initiatives to improve vendor service quality, compliance, and operational efficiency.

Cheryl has been nationally recognized for her leadership, earning accolades such as the Leading Ladies of Aerospace Advocate Award, CIO Ones to Watch, and Jax State Alumna of the Year in 2020. A champion for mentorship and giving back, Cheryl published the book, "The Courage to Continue: Navigating Your Corporate Journey" and served as Vice President of Scholarships for the Jax State Black Alumni Chapter, helping raise and match funds to support current students.

From her first days on campus to her professional and philanthropic achievements, Cheryl credits Jax State with giving her the opportunity to grow, lead, and now give back.
