The JSU School of Nursing will host an open house on Feb. 8, 4:30-6 p.m., at the university’s newly renovated South Complex. The event is free and open to the public.

Renovations began on what is now known as JSU's South Complex in 2021. The property, once home to the former Jacksonville Hospital, was donated to the university in June 2018, just a few months after campus was hit by an EF-3 tornado that destroyed its nursing building, Lurleen B. Wallace Hall.

The university's nursing program operated in various locations across campus until the grand reopening of JSU South this past fall. The move united the top-ranked nursing program under one roof, alongside its peers in the College of Health Professions and Wellness: the respiratory therapy and athletic training programs.

The community is invited to tour the School of Nursing's new home while enjoying light refreshments. There will be a ribbon cutting for the John G. Beard Family and Alabama Nurses Foundation Classroom at 5 p.m., followed by a tree dedication honoring Dr. Martha Richey at 5:15 p.m.
